Moms and Homemakers

The vocations of motherhood and homemaker are scorned by enlightened minds on the left. This became evident yet again on April 11 when Hilary Rosen, a Democratic strategist, said about Mitt Romney’s wife:
“His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She’s never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and ... why we worry about their future.”
My wife Lori is a hard working wife, mother, homeschool teacher, homemaker, volunteer at church, and part-time nurse. I guarantee you, Ms. Rosen, that my wife’s work is making a far bigger and better impact on the future of this country than your work. And your comrades claim conservatives are waging a “war on women.” Ironic, isn’t it?!

To quote the wisdom literature of Proverbs 31, my beloved Lori is an excellent wife, far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her. She works with willing hands. She provides food for her household. She dresses herself with strength. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. Strength and dignity are her clothing. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

To all of you hardworking moms and homemakers out there: God bless you!

  1. Good post, Rev. Mumme!

The Left's despising of what is traditional and good is nothing compared to the wonderful fruits produced by people such as hardworking moms and homemakers.
